Alice Yim was the opening designer at the Asian In NY Fashion Show hosted by China Institute in downtown Manhattan. She showcased 10 Women’s looks from her Alice Yim New York Spring/Summer 17 Collection. Yim also included 2 Men’s looks from her newly formed bespoke menswear line, Shirtologi.
Her womenswear collection celebrates vintage 1970’s style silhouettes and European dynamic prints. Crystals also played a role in shaping her current designs. This season, Yim collaborated with Jimmy Crystal to create eyewear and jewelry designed specifically for her show. In addition, Jimmy Crystal provided a $40,000 Swarovski crystal-encrusted bicycle to lead the collection on the runway.
Alice Yim was born in Shanghai, raised in Hong Kong, and educated in America. She moved to New York City to pursue her goal of establishing herself in the fashion world. After working for numerous fashion houses, including Michael Kors, she debuted her first knitwear collection in 2007 and established Alice Yim New York.
